Happy Friday! Hope you are all making the most of the summer sunshine. We live close to a park and its so lovely to be able to go every single day and let Mila run around freely. She is walking now and OMG my life will never be the same again. I literally don’t need to go to the gym anymore as I am running around after her 24/7. But it is SUCH good fun!
Looking back at my pregnancy style with Mila I was very much into wearing a lot of floaty pieces. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love these sort of styles but I also feel like second time around I definitely want to wear some tight clothing too in order to show off the bump. Its as if having been through pregnancy and labour I am even more in awe of what our bodies are capable of and its a very empowering feeling so I want to make the most of it. I think lots of women struggle with the changes that are happening to their bodies and the first time around I was definitely more self conscious about my changing body. But now I embrace it as it is such a beautiful thing. Also my bump is around triple the size it was at this stage with Mila so there is no use hiding it!
So with that said I am so into pencil skirts at the moment – they look sleek, elegant and they are comfy (especially with a growing bump.) For years I have been buying from The Outnet’s own label Iris&Ink – they clearly know what sells well on sister company Net a Porter and they make affordable versions of best selling styles. Not copies but wardrobe staples that you will want to wear over and over again. I have a few of their stretchy pencil skirts and they are so versatile – but right now I love wearing them with a cropped top (especially off the shoulder) tucked in. Basically they show off your curves in all the right places. But as I said they are versatile. You can wear them with t-shirts and jumpers and shirts – but I would always recommend tucking the top in as it does more for your silhouette. Another brand that does great ones is Norma Kamali. Its Fathers Day on Sunday which means its the first Fathers Day for my husband. I wonder what Mila has planned for him 🙂 Wishing you all a wonderful weekend xx
