Creating My Favourite Look

Happy Friday!

I wanted to do a post all about my favourite go-to look of the moment mainly because it works SO well whether you are pregnant or not. Pencil skirt + statement top + beautiful shoes. Its really simple. Its become an almost daily outfit choice for me because stretchy skirts are SO comfortable when you are pregnant and the entire look is achievable with limited time. So to achieve this look there are three simple steps (with the option of adding statement jewellery and whatever bag you like at the end.)

So STEP 1: Its easiest if you start off by finding the right pencil skirt. The good thing with pencil skirts is that you cant really go wrong. All I would say is that if you are pregnant its easier to go for one that doesn’t have a zip and therefore it will be really comfortable and your bump can grow with it. But it certainly doesn’t have to be a maternity one. Jonathan Simkhai do great ones (that are more pricey) or ASOS have some simple really affordable ones.

Next pick a statement top or tee that will work with your skirt. I mostly stick to plain colours (I love for example a black skirt with a white top or an all black look) but some prints can be really stunning. T-shirts can be tucked in (even when you are pregnant!), jumpers can be tucked up slightly and crop tops are definitely the easiest option as they sit perfectly just above the skirt.

And finally add some shoes to complete the look. I think if you are going for a quite a simple skirt and top then picking some statement shoes is a must – I love flatforms when I am pregnant as they are comfortable but give me height. However you can also opt for flat sandals or trainers which work just as well. And thats it! It is so easy to achieve but creates a wonderfully flattering and chic put together look.
