The 5 New Season Essentials You Need In Your Wardrobe

Hiiii and happy Monday! So I have about a million blog posts to write but life just ALWAYS gets in the way. I had a bit of disaster of a situation with a new nanny – our old one that was with us since Mila was 8 weeks old had to leave due to a health reason so we found a new nanny that turned out to be totally not right for us so at the moment we have no nanny. But my amazing mother comes and helps out when she can and it helps that Mila is now at nursery a little. To be really honest I prefer not having a nanny. I have my hands full with the girls and the blog and a few other things and so I do need an extra pair of hands sometimes but I have always been quite open about the fact that I wish I could do it all myself. I am a control freak and find it really hard to let go when it comes to my girls but I also realise that I don’t want to be super stressed and run down so an extra pair of hands doesn’t hurt. We are also looking for a bigger home and hopefully moving very soon but that always takes up so much time.  And I guess I focus a lot more on Instagram these days so the blog always comes second.  I love love love finding all the shopping links again – I took a bit of a break in the summer but I am feeling SO inspired with all the new season styles and sharing them with all of you. Ive had such great reactions to my recent mini hauls on the high street (including THAT h&m coat that everyone is going crazy for!) so I will definitely try to do more of those. There will be lots more posts coming and lots of exciting things happening – as I said we are hopefully moving in October and I will be doing up our new home so will share that as I go along. Ive also written a post about tips on travelling alone with two – I feel like I did it so much this summer that I have totally gotten over any worries I might have had. And I think the easiest way for me to do an update about Ibiza is by sharing it on stories rather than writing an entirely new post about it. But for today I wanted to focus on FIVE pieces that your wardrobe needs for Autumn/Winter. So here we go…

A Teddy/Faux Fur Coat

Its no secret that I love faux fur and oversized teddy coats! I have a few investment ones from Maxmara but what is so great about the colder months is that the highstreet has so much to offer. We have all gone a little crazy for the h&m one which is selling out everywhere. But here are a bunch of other options high street and designer which I love.

A Statement Knit

So I will be living in my new Zimmermann knit – you can see it here. But anything that has a voluminous sleeve, an interesting texture or an oversized neck is amazing for the new season. Linked all my favs below.

A Pair Of Pointy Boots

I basically didn’t take my Balenciaga pointy boots off last winter – they are so versatile and look great with both dresses and jeans. The elongated shape gives the illusion of a longer leg and the heel is quite low so they are still really comfy. This season I invested in the leopard print pair – again they really do go with everything leopard is such a neutral! But there are plenty of options out there that wont break the bank – all linked below.

Leather

In the colder months I wear a lot of leather. Trousers (skinnies and wider legged ones), skirts and even dresses. Leather goes with almost anything – you can wear a pair of skinnies with a bright cashmere jumper but equally you can team them with a plain white tee. And they add an instant edge to any look. I have had my Iris&Ink skinnies for 5 years and they are such great quality they still look brand new even though I have worn them to death.

A pop of colour

As much as I love the more muted tones such as beige and grey for Autumn, this season every wardrobe needs a pop of colour. My yellow card is a must have but there are so many choices out there. Marks & Spencer has been my go-to cashmere shop for years and they have lots of brights at the moment – red, green, pink – take your pick. Favs linked below.

And lastly, don’t forget to accessorize with some statement earrings or a hair piece. As always they add so much to a look.

xx
