Happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I had coffee (if you can call it that with me running after Mila every two seconds) with a friend today who is pregnant and she was asking about newborn essentials. It got me thinking about all the things that I bought first time around which I didn’t necessarily need so I will be doing a full on post about this soon. It can be overwhelming first time around (I certainly felt that way) because it feels like you need SO much so I wanted to share my take on the subject.
But for today’s post I thought it was about time (another long overdue post!) that I talked about my current obsession: statement earrings. Wearing jewellery is quite a new development for me if I am honest. My engagement ring, wedding ring, a necklace my husband bought for me for our first ever Christmas years ago and a few bracelets are the only things that I wear every day in terms of jewellery. And for many years I wore simple small studs in my ears. And that was pretty much it. But then last year I discovered Soru (check out their range here they are just so stunning – I love their rings too) and I have been obsessed with statement jewellery ever since. In particular earrings. And now I can’t imagine my ears without them most days. They just add SO much to an outfit. You can be wearing the most plain jeans and a t-shirt yet if you add a pair of bold earrings you will always look pulled together.
So I have rounded up my favourite brands for you with a few pics of me wearing some with two different outfits to demonstrate just how versatile they are.
Kenneth Jay Lane
This is SUCH a great brand and so reasonably priced – especially when you buy them from The Outnet. I bought some pink bon bon ones before our Ibiza trip and have gotten so much use out of them. Great also if you want to try the statement look but you don’t want to go TOO big.
Ranjana Khan
Ok I am OFFICIALLY obsessed with this brand. These are huge, colourful and so so beautiful. Enough said. Waiting for my order to arrive that I placed last week.
Oscar De La Renta
Oscar De La Renta earrings are always very classic but with a twist. They are timeless. But just beware they are also quite pricey so really just depends how much you want to spend and how much you think you will use them.
Mercedes Salazar
Only discovered this brand a few weeks ago and I am hooked! I have a few pairs already and what is so amazing about them for mums is that they are clip ons. I remember my grandmother wearing clip on earrings and never thought that would be me but there are many brands who are doing it now and thank goodness because there are times when Mila wants to yank my earrings (and ears) off – I am sure any mums out there have experienced this!
Selection of other brands I love
There are so many brands out there and I am sure I have yet to discover many other amazing ones but these are the ones I am wearing at the moment. xx
